Not choosing is a new form of choosing for artist Faria van Creij-Callender (1998). In a world in which she is mixed in between colours and continents, embracing that being a mix instead of being one or the other feels liberating. Through her work she manoeuvres through the grey zone of black and white, which turns out not to be grey at all. With multiple layers of paint, duality and (im)balance are shown through subtile symbolism and will continue to be reinterpreted.
